I think you are right. I checked out Hobie's website, and my Mom has the lanai model, which is a very short (9') yak. Putting my big arse in it is probably overloading the poor little thing.

I have been talking to CB and thinking about getting one also!! But the money is not there right now. I will try CB's at some point and see how it is.

And if there is a lot of interest for a yak forum I will make one. But has to be for more then 1 or 2 persons.

My parents have two sit on top and they are not very good for riding waves as they tend to turn side ways with the wave. Not sure if you had one with a rutter if that would help. I have use the kind that you sit down into with that thing which covers the hole and it worked great for riding waves. I'd check around some to see what you need before buying one.
