so they leak slowly till he gets under way then as it moves the boat takes on water like a pick up tube lol.

whopper, sorry about your boat going down, but you salvaged it quickly so more than likely the hull is fine. BTW, I think it was StinkyHooker that kept a fan blowing thru his hatches/hull just to keep things dry as can be. You should be o.k. Don't have much experience w/ submerged motors, personally or otherwise. I'm just going to say good luck w/that.....from all the advise already given I'm sure you got a good game plan for what's best to do.
