Les'...the boat did the Mariel run? Do ya know how many people were brought back? Friends of mine went down..( two Miami cops )..they had a terrible time. They were held agin their will for 3 weeks at the marina. Got loaded like sardines on their 32' Scarab. Didn't get to bring back anyone they went down for. Talk about POed.

HAMMER:

THIS GUY WENT TO GET HIS FAMILY, BUT WHAT THE CUBAN DISGOVERMENT WAS DOING , THEY FILLED THE BOAT WITH CONVICTS AND MENTAL DISTURBED PEOPLE
(6 PEOPLE PLUS HIM) AND TOLD HIM THAT HIS FAMILY WILL FOLLOW ON ANOTHER BOAT, THEY SENDT THE FAMILY 2 MONTHS LATER. HE SPENT 2 WEEKS IN CUBA LIVING IN THE BOAT AND GETTING CHARGED AN ARM AND A LEG FOR FOOD AND TOILET SUPPLIES, EVEN TO DISPOSE OF HUMAN WASTE HE WAS CHARGED $25.00 PER TIME. AWFUL.

ON ANTHER SUBJECT, I CARRY A 4 PERSON RESCUE POD
MADE BY VIKING, IS A CARRYING CASE AND INFLATES WHEN YOU PULL THE LAND YARD FROM A CO2 TANK.

Dayum. Guess that treatment was SOP. Both my buds are Miami cops. One with SWAT. He said he wanted to toss'm off the boat but, was outnumbered. Same deal with the food. Ham sandwiches were major bucks. Their kinfolk never did make it out tho'.
When fidel finally dirtnaps...it's gonna be chaos again I figure. Millions of people wanna leave the island. I can't blame'm.

OH MAN: THAT'S THE STORY WE'VE BEEN FED BY THOSE WHO WANT TO KEEP THE STATUS QUO, LIKE CASTRO IS THE ONLY ONE THAT CAN KEEP ORDER IN THERE!!!!

WHEN CASTRO DIES, WHY WOULD CUBANS WOULD WANT TO LEAVE IF HE' THE REASON WE ARE LEAVING THE COUNTRY?

I THINK IS THE OTHER WAY AROUND, WITH THE VERY HIGH TAXES AND ENOURMOUS HOMEOWNERS INSURANCE
WE ARE PAYING IN SO. FLA. WE WOULD WANT TO LEAVE,
TO CUBA OR SOMEWHERE ELSE BUT HERE!!!

Don't get me wrong. Cuba is very Dear to my heart.
Fact remains many...millions..of people see the US as a fast track to wealth. Which we are. No doubt many folks would return and new folks would flow in from everywhere else. That's what I mean by chaos. Mariel would be a picnic by comparison. Miami would grow by 100% almost overnight.
Far as leaving the US...folks have already traded their dollars for euros and moved to places like Costa Rica and Dominican Rep. I'd like to live in Cuba. What I really think would be cool is for'm to vote themselves statehood and become our 51st.
My LEO bud has since retired to North Carolina. ;)

Smile offshore

Hi guys. I have been locked out of the site due to bad passwords and now I'm back!

This site was also blocked at work and this site has grown since I first posted 4years ago!

I've gone as far as 30 miles offshore tuna trolling and I was actually caught in 5 footers but it really depends if you're in a headsea or a following sea. headsea sucks if the waves are white capped and tight, you'll pound some depending how fast you're going. following sea is awesome, so long as you don't go too fast and bury the nose into the back of another wave. quartering sea you'll just plain ol' get wet.

If you pick your days you'll be fine offshore. I have a 140 Johnson (really a suzuki) four stroke and I've grown to love it. I cruise at 20 to 21 knots getting four miles to the gallon on average days fully loded with equipment, me and another angler in sea conditions and windspeeds at 15 knots or less, on flat calm days I get 5 miles to the gallon.

I'm out of Moriches Inlet NY and I just recently pulled the boat out of the water after a productive fishing season.

Glad to be back!
