An increased supply of oil from Canada, an ally, would mean a decreased dependency on Middle Eastern and Russian supplies (you know, the folks Biden asked to increase production). Increased availability of oil means lower prices for consumers - everywhere. It also means greater US leverage over the Middle East and Russia. How difficult is that to grasp?

But in case you still don't understand, here's an example: Let's say there are X gallons of oil available to the world every day and the price is Y, then by increasing X you decrease Y. It's simple supply and demand. That pipeline would have increased the worlds supply and so the price of oil and oil products would have decreased at all levels. (To say nothing of the jobs it would have produced here in the US, as well as the leverage it would have given us in world affairs). By stopping the pipeline and the leasing of Federal lands for oil exploration he (Biden) made a lot of people in the stock market very nervous. They've pulled back their money and are now taking a wait and see attitude. Waiting to see what further "Green Energy" initiatives Biden and the Dem's are going to try to get through Congress and how that will effect stock prices. That scarcity of money has slowed exploration of non Federal Lands and all that uncertainty is helping fuel the inflation that Biden's presidency has caused. .

Even if that's true it's irrelevant. Oil is a global commodity. Worldwide supply directly influences worldwide prices. Is that really so difficult a concept to grasp?

Smart? Of the 50 million barrels (not gallons) 18 million were already allocated in the BBB "Infrastructure bill to be sold to help pay for it. From what I heard today, he also sold the remaining 32 million barrels. NONE of it went to the American public. I cannot confirm that last part, but it seems reasonable to believe that the smoke and mirror Democrats would do exactly something like that. That oil was in storage to be used in an emergency like a war. That's why it's called the "Strategic Reserve". There's nothing strategic about how 50 million barrels were just squandered. Oh, and 50 million barrels is only a 2 and a half day supply for the United States at our present level of consumption. So exactly HOW would it have helped anyone? Fact #676: U.S. Refiners Produce about 19 Gallons of Gasoline from a Barrel of Oil. A standard U.S. barrel contains 42 gallons of crude oil which yields about 44 gallons of petroleum products. The additional 2 gallons of petroleum products come from refiner gains which result in an additional 6% of product. .

Yep, You keep quoting it like some it's kind of trophy for you. It's the one and only time that I made a mistake/typo/error, that I readily admitted to with a link as proof that what I said was true among independents. As to that mistake on my part, so what??? This is a post about oil and using the STRATIGIC RESERVE to help pay for the Infrastructure bill nonsense. The 18 million barrels are right in the bill. Look it up. As to the other 32, like I said, I could not confirm that it was sold also, but it seems logical. And in all cases the entire 50 million barrels would only last 2 and a half days IF (and that's a big IF) it all went to the American public. To me, it looks like a raid by the Democrats to help pay for the Infrastructure bill). IMHO .
