You have a looper, so you MUST run the VRO style pump. And all VRO pumps for the V-4, V6, and V8's are the same(just the V8 uses 2). I'd offer you the one i have, but it works for about 5 minutes and hangs up and blocks off all fuel flow. Chased it for over a month before I finally figured out the diaphram was blocking the fuel flow when it hung open.

Hey ferm what about using a merc v6 remote mounted pump. They are way cheaper than the omc pump. I ran a cross flow v6 on my 120 looper with out any issue. But I remember you said something about a cross flow pump not working with a looper . Seems like the Merc would be the way to go

The MERC pump may work as it would be meant for a loopers lower crankcase pressure. I know I tried a regular OMC crossflow pump on my 140 looper, and it worked great until it hit 4000 RPM's, then the pump just quit working. The VRO pumps are designed to work well with virtually no crankcase pressure at all, and is why they work on the loopers.

Guys I'm going out on a limb here, but would an inline fuel pump work? Something like this... Showing 4psi

The other drawback is the V4 looper charging system is pathetic to say the least. My 140 only put out .6 amps at a 700 idle, 3.6 amps at 3600, and topped out at 8.3 amps at 6000. So it doesn't take long for an electric pump to pull your battery down at slow speeds.

Let me check the parts bin. I just stripped down a 140 looper but I am not sure I pulled the vro pump or not.

If you are interested I can sell you one of my spares, I have two, this one is off because I am running an electronic fuel system. it was purchased less than three years ago, as shown in pictures I have taped over the inlets to prevent dust.
I am asking 110 including shipping. |
