I realy like the room in the D/C, but I appreciate the storage space of my cuddy too.

As you've noted, there's more deckspace on the back of the cuddy, but the DC has a comparable amount of space in the back (w/o the boxes) along with a considerable amount of deck in the front. I don't have windshields on my DC, so it will certainly be a wet ride till I get some. However, I wonder how or why the DC would be a wetter ride than any of the other models... I still haven't had mine in the water yet, but hope to this Spring.

Getting a little off-topic and no offense to the DC owners, but I don't like the lines of 'em. The location of the consoles makes the boat look wider in the middle and distracts from that gorgeous, flared bow. The cuddy lines give the impression of forward lean that blends into the bow. The center console is small and aft, so all you see is the hull. Somebody on here has a light tackle-friendly center with no bow rails, bracketed outboard and it's one of my favorites here. If/when I go back to a V-20, I would seriously consider converting a cuddy into a seating/open deck area like the Grady Tournament to max out the fishing room. Of course, that's only when I get the time & money and am a glassing god like Skools. ;)

Hey, Blue
I got the job with the company I've been trying to get into for the past two years and the work and stress should be like a quarter of what it has been as a lowly sub-contractor of a contractor. Life is about to get a whole lot easier April 9th when I start: I'll get home in time for dinner with the family, will stop working 12 hrs. a day, and will still have the energy to put some hours downstairs in the print shop. Hope things are well with you and thanks for asking. Will |

Ches, ya might be referin' to "On-the-Fly"...after swamping, he put his CC back to be one of the most beautiful CCs I've ever seen...you're right about ''tackle-friendly"...everything on the deck is LOW-profile...made for casting...and great execution of design...he did it right ;) ...

I suppose it really does come down to preference...
I bought the DC I did first of all because of the way it looked. I didn't know anything about V20's at the time. And while I hope to get a set of windshields someday, I think she looks hot without them. I know I'm in for some wet rides till then. I also like the way the CC's look. That said, the amount of total deckspace front and back on the DC can't be beat... ;)

the problem with the DC windsheild is there are no side glass, they are to small to do any good, so if you are getting water from the side your going to get wet!!
Hell in the right wind and sea I get soaked in my cuddy!! I still like the DC best! But I love my cuddy!
