Deck area in different models?

I've been reading the archives and searching through the galleries trying to learn as much as I can about the V's. It looks as if the cuddy model has more deck space to fish from than the DC. Can anyone tell me the differences in deck space dimensions between the Cuddy and Dual Console? (exact measurement not necessary) Am I seeing something wrong?

Help a newbie out, man. Consider it a charitable deduction on your taxes...

The helm on the dual console model is further aft than on the cuddy. The Dual Console and Center Console versions of the V-20 ride a little better for this reason. Cuddy's are the easiest to find and the cheapest. The Dual Console by many is considered the ultimate V-20, however finding one in decent shape can be a challenge.

I think Cuddy has the most room, followed by the CC, *then the DC.

Most cuddys wide open, CC is good as long and they don't have them dam side boxes in the rear!!

DC has what I think the least space, but the best set up! again as long as it doesn't have the rear boxs! If I was starting over a DC would be in my yard now, best of both worlds !!

fire..i think the difference in space between the two will become irrelevant when trying to anchor on the CBBT during a strong tide...lol

Kajun: could you elaborate on your comment? ...do you mean, when I fall overboard standing on the front "deck" of a cuddy attempting to set the anchor? I would need a long deadman cord to cut the motor and hope the boat rides the current faster than I do while I grab for the lower unit...lol

Thanks

With the Pulpit anchoring is real easy now on my cuddy!! and you are never falling over from a cuddy!!

nah lol..what i meant was trying to set anchor along the CBBT in a strong tide can be rough sometimes.....multiples throws and pulling in......a boat with an open bow like a DC or CC is easier to throw anchor and pull in than any cuddy......so when you in a bad spot and having to toss anchor a few times and having troubling holding...you wont be thinking about that small difference in space.

OK, Kajun, thanks for the explanation!

MJ: I don't like the side boxes either, can they be torn out or are you stuck with them if you have em?

Have a friend who had a D/C model. He donated it to a charity. Said it was the wettest boat he ever owned. I couldn't tell you if it's true as I've never been on one. Got another friend who has a D/C with a bracket and a 175 HP Ocean Pro. He's had his for years.
