Default Question for the computer literate

I took a video of my Merc running yesterday but when I try to upload it to PB it says it has to be another type of file, mpeg is one of the many listed.

How do I convert the files on dvd to an acceptable format. I did a search but I am not computer literate enough to figure out what they are talking about.

Thanks.

When I try, it just gives an error message.

The file "VIDEO_TS.VOB" does not have a valid video extension.
Valid video extensions are: 3g2, 3gp, 3gp2, 3gpp, 3p, asf, avi, divx, divx, dv, dvx, flv, gif, moov, mov, mp4, mpeg4, mpg4, mpe, mpeg, mpg, qt, swf, wmv, xvid, rm.

I guess I need an extension. :'(

.vob is your extension.

Do a google search for a free video conversion program,
there are many out there.

In google, type in free conversion vob to mpeg

Well, I tried. Ended up with about a second of video on PB.

I have wasted 4 hours trying, I give up.

Sometimes simply renaming the file with a different extension will work. So, you might try removing the .vob and replacing it with .avi to see if it works.

I downloaded the "FX MPEG Writer", used it to convert my video from the dvd format to MPEG, then uploaded to photobucket. Then put it on here as a hyperlink instead of the normal copy/paste that works for pics.
