Stinky might be able to get some ideas for his notch-filling project on his 18 from this.

I don't belive it was a fill job!!

I think that is a custom job of some kind for the inside of the boat?? Maybe even factory option of some kind?

And a good one as the cap piece is a perfect copy of the rest of the cap, all the lines match!

I think its factory. When i was shopping for mine i came across one with the same setup, there is a flat area like a bench seat and access to the battery area on the interior.

I liked it alot just the whole pkg. was to much $ at the time. And I have heard that the omc motors will bolt up to the seadrive but the seadrive part is very heavy. I think braket way to go. Gotta like that solid transom.

Good job cbe interior pics and clear this up...

Hey no glass in the windshield or super clean and looks like he needs another bimini

My guess is that the transom is factory. The cap on my 89 I/O is the same across the back. I think it was made this way so that 1 cap would fit all engine / hull combinations.

Don't think so, think it has to do with something ordered from the factory that way. Because every sea drive and I/O I've seen to date in classifieds, on the web and here had the full wide transom. There must of been some type of option you could order to have the transom set up that way.
Did your I/O have a seat in there or something else?

Here's a picture from the Wellcraft site.

http://www.wellcraft.com/Images/CSer...plift_1989.jpg

this is exactly how my boat is set up. I think this same cap would fit over a notched hull.

Yea thats it exactly Rick, take a look at the cap on his boat and take a look at that pic, the transom cap is at least a foot deep all across the back, his has what looks like a factory done area in center that is only a couple inches deep. Interesting, anyone know why that was done ???
