 AT LAST!!

		OK fellas,
Here it is! 1987 V-20 Fisherman SDM http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...7/0e0d31ff.jpg A little dirty, but a very solid hull. I finally found my full transom! Its taken two long years to find one. This one has been sitting for a while. You should of seen it before I pressure washed it. It was literally green. It still has the original SeaDrive mount. Some soft spots in the deck, but nothing major. Mainly just cosmetic stuff. It is a work in progress, but it runs good enough to fish this summer. Here are more Pics: http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...7/21cf0418.jpg Cowling is shot! I do plan to repower. But I'll use this engine until it quits. The previous owner put a rebuilt 1985 Johnson 235 on it in 1993(since that model engine bolts right up). It has no hour meter. But it seems to run nice. I've only had it in the water about an hour. Notice where the dumba** that painted the bottom put the paintline about three inches above the actual waterline, jeez. :( http://i82.photobucket.com/albums/j2...7/f4131e71.jpg Ahh! the best part, that smooth DRY ride. Anyways, I'm excited to finally have another V-20. I'll keep y'all posted on the progress. Now, I gotta get back to the wiring. Chris |

 Re: AT LAST!!

Hey fellas, what about that transom? *Doesn't it look like someone filled a notch there? *Or is that how the seadrives look?
P.S. Nice boat!! Keep us posted on your work, fishing, beer drinking, women...oooops, I veered off the straight and narrow there for a sec :D Curious in NC, *??? Blue |

 Re: AT LAST!!

		CBE,
Nice find! *Hey, when you say that the 1985 235 Johnson bolts right up, are you talking about the engine power unit or are you talking about the whole engine with the lower unit? * I've heard mixed opinions on this. *At the end of the day, I didn't think it could be done, so I'm removing my Sea Drive and replacing it with a bracket. *The move to the bracket is inevitable for most Sea Drive owners, but that would have been a nice, fairly easy fix since my Sea Drive works well, but motor is shot. Anyway, congratulations once again on finding a great boat. *If you don't mind my asking, how much did you pay for her? * |

 Re: AT LAST!!

Bygrace, does your transom look the same as the one in the pic posted by cbe317?

 Re: AT LAST!!

		BR,
Nope, mine is all one piece. *This isn't the best angle, but you can see the difference in this photo: http://www.wellcraftv20.com/gallery/...mp;id=100_0368 Come to think of it, that looks like somebody took the back seat from another V20 full transom and installed it there. Good idea, looks clean. Steve |

 Re: AT LAST!!

I'm really thinking this was a notched transom that was filled. Not a bad thing at all! If it is a filled notch I would just like to know how he did it, as would others here. CBE, if you can, take some interior pics esp. of the transom area that would be cool!

 Re: AT LAST!!

I am wondering the same thing Blue, I looked at four sea drive boats over the year and a half shopping and none of those or mine for that matter had anything but what you see in Grace's gallery shot. A full transom and full transom cap about a foot wide across the top.
CBE let us know if you can what the story is because you have an anomaly there, if you can post some pics from the inside also looking back onto the transom. Either way good luck with the V, they are fine boats and I here the CC's are great set ups ;) |
