It's all good, except for 12 miles to the inlet.

I'm guessin that you dock behind you house, and don't want to give that up.

Nice! ;D That's in great shape for it's age. Interesting to see everyone's solution to the lack of mounting space for electronics.

What does it cost to have a full cockpit enclosure made like the one on Simple_Gesture's boat?
The rig I am considering has the stand up type bimini and there is a zipper for a connector to the top of the windshield. This rig shown here though with side curtains and all is what I need for the squalls that pop up all the time here in the Gulf.

Hi, Capt:

I have the same type of enclosure on my boat. I replaced all the canvas at the end of last season at a cost of about $1,200 (using my existing frame). See the last photo on this page:

http://www.eurnet.com/wellcraft/restored/index.htm

It's a very warm and dry setup. I'm sure you'll like it.

macojoe,
Yesiree I live on the Miss. Coast in the Biloxi area.
This area lies on the continental shelf therefore you have to run 25-30 miles south of the barrier islands (40 miles in total from shore) to hit deep water. Never gets over 60 feet deep so when the wind whips up past 10 knots we have a very steep chop to deal with. I am hoping the V-20 will provide a decently soft ride. Easy to see with that bow flare that it will be dry but if I buy the rig I wrote about today in the for-sale area I wont hang on to it long if it pounds in a chop.
Regards,
Capt. Jerry

Fitz,
What a beautiful rig!!
Can you tell me where I could get the enclosure that you have? 1200.00 seems resonable to me and since it's such a standard size (the V-20) it should be easy to order over the phone.
Also the rig I am about to purchase (87 V-20 Cuddy) has the padded armrests mo;ded into the gunnel next to the port and stbd. helm & passenger seats and the wood inside is rotted and the foam holds water. I thought about taking them off and plugging any holes but would rather replace them. Any idea where I could find them or get them made up?
Regards,
Capt. Jerry

Thanks, Capt.

The canvas company is at my office. I'll get it for you tomorrow.

I didn't have to replace any of the vinyl on my boat, but I think it's a relatively easy job. I'd just remove the existing pieces, cut new backer boards, drill holes in the same locations; buy new stainless fasteners, and take all of that stuff along with the old pieces to a vinyl repair or upholstery shop. All the shop would then have to do is cut new cushions and staple on the new vinyl.

Good luck.
