hey as MJ said cut out larger than is bad so you get into good wood. to glass back in just peel the old deck glass off the piece you cut and then bevel the seam of the glass's and patch the seam with several layers of glass start with a small piece that just covers the cut and get about 2 inches wider each piece of glass till the joint is to higher than the original deck and then just block sand level and then paint you'll be good to go.
