Default Re: Motor tilt not working

Update:

I went back to the boat last Monday after work and the engine went right up. *Everything seemed to work fine. *I inspected as much as I could with the boat in the water and I saw the T/T motor cable was wrapped heavily in electrical tape. It has been like that for the two years I've had the engine. *I peeled off all the tape and found about a 1" split in the out insulation. *It didn't seem like the insulation in the conductors was compromised, but I'm sure water was able to get in. *I went backl on Wed, July 4, - gave it another two days to dry out and covered the opening with silicon. *I was hopeful that could get me through the season.

I took the boat out yesterday morning - everything seemed to be fine. *I fished for a few hours - picked up a 23" fluke - got back to the slip and - I hear the clicking of the solenoids but the motor is not turning. *I took Schools advice and tapped it and it slowly started to turn - and then had enough power to get the engine up. *I watched my volt meter as I did this and it seemed to droop about 4 volts with the T/T motor running. *I think its time to repair / replace the T/T motor.

That fluke made a good dinner last night with some sesame ginger sauce on it. * ;)
