I am putting on a (New Old Stock) 2001 135 HP Johnson Ocean Pro. I am taking off a 1991 140 HP Johnson. Both engines are veneralble the OMC 122 CID Looper motor. A good strong motor. OK - It may not be super fast, and I had to "punch it" out of the hole. and yes, I can't pull a skier with 6 people in the boat - but most times I'm alone or with one or two other people - and with gas at $2.35 / gal - I can't afford to feed a big 6. On the 4th, I was doing Mid-20's at 4500 RPM lightly loaded with a 14 x 19 prop, and was doing upper 20's at 5,000 RPM and was still climbing. Check out the other posts about props, I see you bought the pair of 140's - I plan to use a 15 x 17 which The "OMC 140 looopers" are good motors - good luch with them - you should be fine - use the two motors to make one good one and keep the parts - a real win-win!
