I replaced angle sensor and replaced the shift motor which got me by for a while, then it stopped shifting again. I ended up installing a shift bypass system that goes around the ECU. That eliminated all the speed/angle sensors, etc. and anything related to the infamous ECU that is known to give problems with the older machines. After that it shifted like a new one. Replaced rear brakes, installed new CV axle boots. My buddy had recently bought a polaris 570 sportsman atv, and I have other friends that have the sportsman models. One of my other friends has a Polaris Ranger 900 - I always liked that ride. So I decided to start looking to replace the foreman. In case anyone doesn't know, the ATV/UTV market is exploding right now. The dealerships can barely keep anything in stock. I have a buddy that ordered a Polaris Sportsman 1000 3 months ago and still doesn't have it. Anyway, I kept looking for a week or two, then one became available about 45 min drive from my house. So, I ended up getting a Ranger 1000 (not xp). So far it has been a nice upgrade. The wife likes it too. She was never a big fan of riding the atv but she loves being able to ride beside me in the UTV. Hunting property is about ~2 miles down the road, so I got a SMV triangle and magnetic blinking yellow lights for the back. Now instead of trailering to the deer land I just ride down the road, which is pretty cool! Got the top and windshield so far, but will be getting the rear windshield at some point. Anybody else got Sportsman or Ranger or UTV?
being somewhat new to hunting, I cant believe what 4 wheelers are selling for, especially old wore out junk. I've been using a JD sxs on my friends farm and really like the amount of stuff you can do with it. $ wheelers are fun, but sxs get the job done and them some. BTW, went 12 times this year, three different properties, two different states three different sets of rules(club/owner rules). Had a good chance at an 8 pointer with at tall rack, missed the shot. Took the rifle to the range, somehow it got knocked 8 inches high at 100 yards. Ended the season 0-1. Oh well, back to fishing, gonna try Turkeys near Jacksonville, NC this year, should be fun

Spare, I concur - I wasn't sure how to list the foreman for sale, so I listed it on marketplace for 4K initially. Like I said, 1999 model foreman 450 4x4 with 971 hours and 3,200+ miles. I ended up agreeing on $3,250 which I am pretty sure what dad paid for it lightly used over 20 years ago. A couple of people came to look at it at 4k. I was surprised.

Hated to sell it. I was a fantastic work horse over the years and ALWAYS started right up. Only issues were electric shift and I had the rectifier go out one time. Was on the trail up in north wilkesboro NC and it literally died right on the trail b/c the battery wasn't charging due to the rectifier. Did a quick battery swap with my buddy's rancher 350 and back in business enough to get back.

BTW we took 4 deer this year. We grind em all up into burger and use for spagetti, chili, tacos, burgers, hamburger steak, etc. Except for the backstraps...
