Actually I already have (2) 2' x 3' solar panels, each producing 13.5+ volts. A 6 square foot panel is .557 square meters. The amount of energy from the sun that hits 1 square meter is between 1100 and 1400 watts, so lets say 1200 watts average.... that's 670 watts per panel. Most panels are between 15% and 20% efficient, so lets say 18% average, that's 120 watts. (This is peek power when the sun is at high noon). For a whole day on the water I should get between 4 and 6 hours of peek watts so, at 5 hours that is 600 watt-hours or .6kw-hr per panel. X2 = 1200 watt-hours, or 1.2 kw-h total. More than enough to recharge the batteries, run LED lights, fish finders, radio, etc. All I really need is the "t" top to mount them to. Been kicking this one around for a while now. I have a radar arch already, but maybe I get rid of that and get a "t" top for the solar panels and the radar.... Or maybe I add to the radar arch to make it into a "t" top and add the panels to that?
