As for the Etec's yall get back to me when you get closer to 400.....I hope you never have a problem but my mind got changed from them to the Yammy 4-stroke real quick......

Wow, that conforms that my next big purchase will be an E-Tec. I can get up to 2.3 on my 100 mile trips. I was just in in the Florida Keys and saw an awful lot of really nice rigs with E-tecs hanging off the back. I have to believe overall its a very reliable engine given that environment and the year round use. If there was a problem word would spread fast down there and you wouldn't be seeing them on guide boats.

Well if it helps, all the guides here hate em

They've been changed on 4 boats that I know of alone. Best of luck with it though.....

If anything just make sure you have someone in your area that can do warranty work on em........and learn his name, hehe. They need a specific computer for diagnostics, etc.........
