Went and seen my mate at the machine shop and he hasn't done anything to the engine since I dropped the connecting rods off. He told me in 4 weeks and I said I need it now as its too close to summer know and I want to wet it this year

Finally bought some head studs found them on ebay Jeggs has a ebay store . Well I had dramas with that buy too .they said they post internaion and they needed to give me a price. Four weeks I remined them every week no reply so I just bought another set of them and then they woke up . I bought them of ebay because they were the only ones that would sell a set for one head . The studs ended up coming and when I went to collect them the package seemed heavy . when I got home and open it sure enough they sent me 2 head sets not one . I should sell these on ebay and then buy another 1/2 set and keep doing it till they wake up LOL

I have got a 500 cfm edelbrock carb that I bought for my engine .I was thinking of buying a 750 cfm edelbrock as well as I think when the boat is on the cruise it may have the secondaires on the carb open beacause the primary ones are small . I have had this on cars too were a bigger carb in a 4 barrel gives you better millage ???? WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS

I think trying to cruise on just the primaries (for a boat) will cause you to be running too big of a carb... as long as the jets n rods are right having, having the secondaries cracked shouldn't hurt ya

best cruise is right before the secondary's open, be careful of running too lean at that point. generally the secondary fuel metering isn't as regulated as the primary, so you may be able to dial it in. I've run boat watching the linkage to see where the secondary start to move, just to dial it in. I still say you need to keep the Q-jet

I don't have a Qjet carby .I have never liked them and have never played with one only because there ugly lol . Yes spares that what I plan doing running it on the plain at a good cruise speed and checking were the carb is at and as for mixtures im fitting a air furl ratio meter on it so I can be sure its not running lean at any throttle position .I have messaged a few cam grinding places here none have responded back . I suppose my project has no interest to them . I wish I found this block 3 months ago would of saved me money on getting the pistons coated well **** happens

I used the Q-jet on a high compression 350 once and it delivered 22 to 23 MPG, I imagine you want the secondaries to come in early on a boat motor.
I hope your project gets to moving along Aussie.
Nice score on the set of heads.. Your on your way to building a second engine..

Seriously I don't think it will be finished this year my wife lost her job 4 weeks ago and I have had some problems with the law and family at the moment we are not speaking to my parents or hers . My 2 older Sons want to give me the money to finish it off but I cant accept taking money of them . It will make me feel like a bigger Loser I do have some pride left in me ever after all my health issues and how the family is trying to F--k us over. I will get there even if it takes another year I can wait . Whats time . Well it took me 10 years to build my house im in ---------------------------------------------------------------------------
