finally found a 4 barrel intake for my 3.7 got it for $ 99 us off ebay so wont need to finish off the one i was modifing $65 us for shipping he was a nice guy in the add it said no shipping world wide i sent him a message and asked if he would think about sending it to Australia and he replied yes only cause i have 100% feed back
thinking of stroking the 3.7 it means to offset the crankshaft grind and to use BB chev rods looking at around 260 ci got my mate coming from the machine shop to see what we can do with out costing too much money he hasnt ever seen a 3.7 i also bought a reco 456 holley to try and see wether i can get the holley or the edlebrock 500 to run better it all depends on jetting hope all you guys are all doing well

keep in mind, you can't properly balance a four cylinder engine without a balance shaft, if you stroke that engine, its going o really shake, and there's not much you can do about it. did you ever come up with an aftermarket cylinder head for it?

Hey Aussie! I can't help you worth a dime on your rebuild, but it's good to see you. How are you doing health wise?

it is a edlebrock carb like a carter i like them cause they are compact and dont have problems with leaks but on the other hand i dont have much experance with them as for fine tuning jets----the holley is alot easier for jets--acc pump---power vavle and itntermedate system if the edelbrock dosnt take much time getting it right with different jets and pins i stick with it

the issue with balancing a 4 cylinder engine is that you can't completely balance one with using a balance shaft. I had my machinist explain it to once, but i still didn't understand what he said. It has something to do with harmonics or something. Most four cylinders are balanced close, but not perfect like you can with a V8. Same thing with some of the V6's, that's why they had the shake issue between 1400 rpm and 2500 rpm. They installed balance shafts on The V6's and it fixed the issue. Some overhead cam engines have weights on the cam shaft to help smooth the engine out. On your 3.7L they shake quite a bit to begin with, I think stroking it is going to add to the issue. Personally, I'd run the 4bbl intake with a Quadrajet(I like them), put the edlebrock head on with a good set of rocker arms. I don't know whats available for a cam shaft, but just running something better than the stock rockers should give you more lift than came from the factory. I think you'll be surprised how well it runs with this set up
