When I rebuilt the motor 12 years ago I put a 700r4 trans behind it and went from 11 mpg no matter what to 18 to 20 mpg on the highway.
Nothing sounds better than glass packs and a Q-Jet with the breather lid flipped........ WIDE OPEN!

here's my 72
 it doesn't look this good any more, its in need of a redo. My 13 year old daughter has claimed it as her's. i told her to bring me a four year scholarship after she graduates high school to any university and its her's. To give you a hint, she asked about painting it garnet and putting a big chicken on the hood

My middle child (oldest daughter) has also said she wants to drive my truck when she gets her license...she used to say she wanted to paint it pink with flames.
