Yeah... we have salty roads here but I forgot how MUCH salt y'all have up there.... The newest vehicle I've ever owned is my 99.5 dually... the only rust on it is a paint chip on the hood that has surface rust and a couple more on the roof where it got scratched but again only light surface rust.... been meaning to take care of those.... all of the underside looks almost new at 330,000 miles..... To me a 98 is still a pretty new ride but I guess up there it's a rusted hulk.... sad really

I will believe it when I see it!!!

I will also say go with the newer one if its in good shape and all checks out! Better on gas, better running all around as already stated. When looking hard at something that I may have a concern, I take it to the nearest inspection station and for the $29 inspection fee U get peace of mind that it will at least pass, then it can't be all that bad!
