I've heard that Vaseline works well for the testing. I tried using a water filled baggy and some type of caulking that I knew would clean easily. I didn't have great consistency w/ either method. Unfortunately I couldn't be laying in the cockpit shoulder deep in the bilge to confirm placement and reading the screen on the console. The gf unfortunately isn't real good reading the ff, and there's no way I'd get her to lay on the floor w/ her arm in the bilge. I'll have to recruit another assistant.

As far as the bedding material, I've been told not to use 4200/5200 due to signal loss and the possibility of air bubbles. My mech suggested some type of slow cure thin epoxy.
I'm looking for an answer to that one too.
