This pic concerns me. The bracket should bolt to the transom, and go right tight against it. bracket uses the transom for leverage and is sealed all around.

It looks like its not tight from that pic??
There is going to be a ton of weight on them bolts if the bracket is just hanging there. also there is some holes on that transom that should be fixed and I think I would have done that before mounting the bracket.

If was me i would remove the bracket and make sure transom is solid, fill all holes and what else might be needed, then remount the bracket with what ever you may need for shims and stuff.

the transom has a huge curve but where it mounts to the bracker its pretty flat. that is why it looks loose. there are 3 small holes that will be filled and the two big ones are for the rigging. i'll take some closer pictures so you can see what im talking about tomorow.

Thanks for he update!!

My bracket was also a straight bracket off a Sea Craft, I had to make shims on the corners of the swim platform. I guess what thru me off was your bracket is so wide!
My bracket was narrow so it fit right flat in the middle, and no space.

OK carry on! LOL

yep she is a wide one. to fix the gap since its so long im just gonna scribe a peice of lumber then glass is and screw it down to the top of the bracket. so you cant see the gap from up top. and where the final two bolts go i will shim it up wtih small aluminum plates.
