You'll most likely need a jack plate or similiar to raise your transom up. A 20" transom is normally closer to 22" and a 25" will be 25-27" from what I have seen. A 20" shaft engine on a 25" transom would cavitate SEVERLY with a standard prop. So you most likely currently have a 20" transom. Many people cut the 25" down to a 20 because there engine is a 20". Just make sure that your cap is solid, I just replaced the aluminum cap on my HYDRA last week.
