Lesterus is right! The fiberglass guy in Homestead, Florida that made mines did do a mold. You can contact Archi 305-607-7717 and ask him for a price.

Carlos nice work! An EPIRB - wow!

I DON'T KNOW IF YOU REMEMBER 2-3 YEARS AGO, A GUY
COMING BACK FROM ELLIOTT KEY WITH HIS FAMILY, RAN OUT OF GAS AND A SUMMER STORM CAPZISE HIS BOAT
THEY WHER RECUED THE DAY AFTER BUT HIS KIDS DIED OF HYPOTHEMIA IN THEIR ARMS. IF YOU THINK ELLIOTT KEY IS ABOUT 1 MILE FROM SHORE (YOU KNOW THE AREA) THIS IS UNTHINKABLE, BUT IT HAPPENED. THAT'S
WHEN I REALIZED THAT AN EPIRB WOULD HAVE SAVED THEIR LIVES AND I BOUGTH IT. BESIDES WHEN WE GO OUT 10-20 MILES OUT, BOY!! YOU WANT TO HAVE HIS THING!!!!

Buy oversized boxes (SSI in Maryland) and enlarge your opening. There's plenty of space to enlarge. I've done it. It's easy.

You're right, can't place a dollar value on life saving equipment. Way to go Carlos! Maybe I will get me one too. By the way, I'm out of commission for now - repairing the damage done by the vandals to my console and then about two weeks ago, the weight of the new hard top and electronics box was a little too much for the original T-top (designed for canvas). The aluminum poles on both sides broke off on 3-5 ft seas as I was riding her hard. I'm lucky the whole top didn't fall of the boat. Well, it's back to repairing my boat. What else is new?

I had to do some very minor trimming and the cost was about $180 for the pair from FPmarine about two year ago. I'll see if I can find the link.

I can't find my old post. There was only a little cutting. I can't remeber if I had to cut along the bottom the length of the box, or along the forward end to make more lenght. Either way it was easy to do.

CHARLIE:

THE NEW ONES HE RECOMENDS FOR OUR V-20'S ARE THE ONES I BOUGHT FROM HIM, AFTER OUR CONVERSATION HE ORDERED SOME AND ADVERTISE THEM IN HIS SITE, THE ARE ABOUT 67" LONG AND YES, THEY ARE RECTANGULAR. IN MY CASE (1978 V-20) MY ORIGINALS WERE TRAPEZOIDAL, THEREFORE THE OVERALL LENGTH WAS ABOUT 70" SO I HAD TO DO A LOT OF CUTTING AND ON TOP OF THAT I WAS LEFT WITH A HOLE IN ONE SIDE I HAVE TO COVER. WHAT I DID IS INSTALLED A FIRE EXTINGUISHER INSERT NEXT TO IT, (PORT SIDE) AND I WILL MOUNT MY "EPIRB" (EMERGENCY POSITION INDICATOR RADIO BEACON" IN THE OTHER SIDE (STARBOARD) THAT WAY I WILL COVER THESE HOLES.

I'LL POST SOME PICS WHEN I HAVE A CHANCE, SHOWING EVERY STEP.
