Racer, that's wonderful!!! I can't wait till my little one is able to pray.

MJ, I can't pretend to know what the Good Lord's purpose is in all of this. But one thing is for sure: your wife's situation is a reality check for all of us. Life and good health really are a gift and we should be thankful for each day we are given. Not only that, but we should redeem each day we are given.

I know we all love our boats, but there are certainly more important things in life and we do well to keep the important things high up on the priority list. Here's the preacher's priority list :) God, spouse, family, friends, hobbies. The nice thing about this V20 forum is that we can build up good relationships with our friends while at the same time enjoying our V20's. CB's a great example of this as are all of you who have encouraged MJ.

MJ, I'm also praying for you buddy. My prayer is that the Lord would shower you with His grace. That you would be given peace and comfort in the midst of these difficult times. And that the Lord would use all of us to help minister to your needs as we are able. If there's anything I can do to be a help, please let me know. I know a lot of guys have said that, and I think we all mean it. We're here for you.

Warm regards,

Steve

:'(

Sorry to pop in only to find out about your troubles, MJ. Health and family are most important, so my first prayers go out to your wife and the rest of your family. Best of luck with the motor... I know how frustrating it can be to have a sick, probably terminally ill motor.

Amen to that Grace! MJ, There so many prayers going out for you right now. The good Lord will intervene just to shut us up! Try to stay strong in your faith and for your wife and family, they are what is most important!! The motor will take care of itself. You are having a bad run right now but I'm sure things will improve!! You know who you really need to talk to right now... he is there waiting...You also have a lot of people here pulling for you and here to help support you through this time. Heck, I'm sure that there are quite a few besides me that didn't get a chance to help with the last fund raiser that would like to help now. $1500 is nothing between one or two hundred people. You are being pushed down hard right now... We just need to push back HARDER! God Bless you MJ! I'll stop blabbering now.

I've been thinking really hard about it. The only thing I could come up with was this:

1st Annual Wellcraft V20 Fishing Tournament

Make this first one a "half and half" with the half of the cash raised going to MJ and the other half the winner of the tournament.

A couple of ground rules - pictures of the fish on a scale and beside a tape.

I was thinking around $15 or $20 entry fee would be cool. Problems I see with this whole thing is:

1) What fish to target?
2) Do we have at least 20 people fishing on this board? If so, they don't seem to be talking about it much.
3) Dishonest participants, possibly newbies come in and fake us out with old pictures. Hey, we could also require that a "Wellcraft V20 Tourny 2006" sign be shown in the pic to make it a little harder to fake it.

We could let this run until after labor day and have our "weigh in" in the fishing section. The only problem I see with it is if we make the target fish fluke, Capt. Bent is a sure winner - the man is on fire right now!

All this would be contingent on Bigshrimpin's approval, which I have yet to discuss with him.

What do ya'll think?

BR, a tournament is a great idea!!...we don't HAVE to get together...and we don't HAVE to determine what fish... ;)...

How's this: everybody who wants to participate enters and fishes their own territory, their own target species, we have a start/ stop date after all entries are in...following the stop date we give POINTS for total pounds of fish AND POINTS for total numbers of fish...the idea is that those who catch bigger fish make less points on quantity and more points on poundage; conversely smaller fish accumulate points for quantity and less points on poundage...

Does that make any sense??

100 1lb bream get same points as 1 100lb tuna...
50 2lb specs get same points as 2 50lb macs...

Will that work??...

Honor System: only way to go here...everybody's gotta be honest about what and when they catch...pictures can be faked and if somebodys gonna tell the truth or not, they will or they won't...but here's what I think...I think we got a group of honest guys here who wanna help out...so I say we're OK to take everybody's word for what they've caught (maybe we better keep a little closer eye on Willy...looks a little ''shifty'' in some of his Gallery pics ;D :-* :-* )

Whadda ya'll think? ??? ;D
