He's really not that overpriced if you break it all down. That engine rigged out probably cost every bit of $18-19K, so I bet it still probably has a $13-15K value if you were to buy one used and have it all rigged. The trailer is a $2500-2700 piece by itself, a 7 in touch screen garmin is around a grand. If it's all marine grade stereo stuff, theres another grand, maybe more(and steroeos are a big deal out on the intercoadtal where they go and park by the islands and crank em up). Figure a clean, sound V20 hull to he worth $3K, and all of a sudden his price adds up. His problem is he put all that money into an older wellcraft where used ones normally fetch in the $3500-10,000 range. He could buy a newer boat(even one with carbed 2 stroke power), swap the outboard and equipment around, sell the newer boat for a repowered premium, then sell the v20 for a normal price, and make more money in the end. Were enthusiasts of the v20 here, but to the average public, they just see a 30 year old hole in the water that doesn't say seacraft, formula, or the like on the side.

I agree with Ferm. However trying to get your money back from a recent repower is very hard.
I really like the switches on the electrical panel!

Not that it would make a lot of difference price wise probably, but it looks to be an 86 or 87 , not an 89.

86 and up were all the same until the v21. 86 was the changeover to the raised decks and such.

I'm not disagreeing. Theres a difference between what he can get whole vs parted out. Like I said, the v-20 isnt helping resale.

The 89 and 90 models have the acrylic door to the cuddy cabin that slides into the bulkhead. This boat has the teak doors like my 87. Also the dash is different. I can attest to that because I have had a 90 and 87 model and there are slight differences. Also the splash well on the 86 and 87 extended into the cabin and it did not on the 89 and 90. With the 89 and 90's there was a fair chance of having a plastic fuel tank which made it more desirable to me. That was one reason I went from the 87 to a V-21, because if I had to replace the fuel tank in the 87, I would have had to cut the floor in addition to removing the hatch in the floor.

Quote:
I have the exact same teak door/trim and same helm. The boot stripe is different than mine. It doesn't have "V20" in the stripe, which I thought was on an 89. Later they put Wellcraft in the stripe. It has metal rub rail, not black rubber with rope. Don't know when that happened? It has a glass box under the passenger seat, I think that was an option even back to 83

My 91 has an acrylic door and a plastic tank. However my 87 had full access to the gas tank with a hatch.
