Default Skool's Twin 225 Project

this is the 1990 motor i picked up over Easter. What ya think i only gave $50 for it, 225 Evinrude 25" shaft.

Took off the heads to look at the salt and to my shock very little, the compression is 90 psi on all but 1 it has 80 so i took the head on this side first and found cylinder has some scoring, i'm going to re-ring her any way then. The marina said it was scrap and they had sold the power pack off due to bad flywheel, all it needed was magnets re-glued, dummies lol.

here she is in completed form see her now soon it will be painted white and decaled as Johnson

todays work these are this morning before i started my mission

You wouldn't guess the parts i used lol the motor is a 1991 Evinrude 225 that's where it ends the flywheel is a 1989, the stator a 1997 Vecton 200, crank trigger a Johnson 200 from 1990, the brain is a CDI box for a 1999/2000 225/250 Looper V6, and last the lower unit a fresh 1988 standard rotation Johnson 200 . She's a mixed motor but runs like a top.

here's the motor today being installed only took about 45 min to hang and bolt on the boat, that includes hooking the boat to the tahoe and backing to the motor.

tight but clears on this 30" set back bracket

pulled out in the yard to see better

now i've got to get the Johnson on the Fence running right and hang then they will be matched up. well and paint them of course.
