Hi guys. I have been locked out of the site due to bad passwords and now I'm back!

This site was also blocked at work and this site has grown since I first posted 4years ago! I've gone as far as 30 miles offshore tuna trolling and I was actually caught in 5 footers but it really depends if you're in a headsea or a following sea. headsea sucks if the waves are white capped and tight, you'll pound some depending how fast you're going. following sea is awesome, so long as you don't go too fast and bury the nose into the back of another wave. quartering sea you'll just plain ol' get wet. If you pick your days you'll be fine offshore. I have a 140 Johnson (really a suzuki) four stroke and I've grown to love it. I cruise at 20 to 21 knots getting four miles to the gallon on average days fully loded with equipment, me and another angler in sea conditions and windspeeds at 15 knots or less, on flat calm days I get 5 miles to the gallon. I'm out of Moriches Inlet NY and I just recently pulled the boat out of the water after a productive fishing season. Glad to be back! |

I take mine 35-45 miles offshore all the time, I try to watch the weather, but sometimes it doesn't matter what the weatherman says, it's going to get rough. I've had mine out there when a storm came up with high winds and as the man said in the earlier post, I've been looking up at waves with a man posted looking aft so the wave behind me doesn't crash on us from the stern. The boat can handle more bad weather than we can but who wants to be out there when it's not FUN!!
