You ask about the rear bench seat, so sounds like you have a later model...but MJ's point is true...where are your gas tank vents located??...MJ and I had hulls w/those vents UNDER the rub rail...mine sucked water in when turning in rough water...also, check all your hoses and connections...you never know...do you ever smell gas?...if so, something's open somewhere...

My fuel cap was missing it's o-ring every time it rained a little water got in, check the simple things first. Second check the fuel vent third check the sending unit, water sitting on top of the tank will find its way into the tank. The gas cap o-ring is extremely common.....

cracked up fill hose or vent hose will cause that too.
