I just started with RC Planes this Spring after my son was hurt in sports and needed a hobby to keep him off the couch. Started with an electric Cub and then saw 2 planes on Craigslist we could not resist; A Nexstar trainer and a P51 w/ a 91 four stroke. WE flew 2 or 3 times every week this summer with the .46 size trainer. Learned quite a bit and had a good time. Our local club is at an all time low for members with about 4 active. One gent in particular is retired and has been a great source for teaching.
My son has healed up and is back to sports so our time at the field is dwindling. I am comfortable with the trainer and I am ready to move on with a new Sig 4 Star 40 I just completed today. Hope to fly in the am. The P51 has yet to see the sky. Not sure I am ready for that one just yet. |
