Anybody R/C`er here ( airplane, boat, car... )

I used to fly R/C airplanes for a long long time. I flew pattern, and scale. One name that I remember well and makes me feel so good is SIG. Also Fox engines is what I had when I started. Learned to fly with a M.E.N. trainer, next a SIG Kadet Mk1. Later a Kaos 40 and 60, then a Dirty Birdy, and then Tiporares 40 and 60. I love that Hobby VERY much, but eventually it just faded away from me. I bought a new ARF trainer for my kids later, they learned to fly it, but never got interested in continuing the Hobby. The ARF sits on the garage and I think I am going to give it to a Club or something.

Never done it, but it sure looks like fun.

If you want to get the kids into flying R/C buy them a GWS Slow Stick. Its electric, but incredibly easy to fly and almost indestuctible. I have one that I used to do aerial photography with. The whole set up with radio and charger is under $200 and the plane is a blast. I miss flying but with a 21 month old son I just don't have the time that I used to.

I just started with RC Planes this Spring after my son was hurt in sports and needed a hobby to keep him off the couch. Started with an electric Cub and then saw 2 planes on Craigslist we could not resist; A Nexstar trainer and a P51 w/ a 91 four stroke. WE flew 2 or 3 times every week this summer with the .46 size trainer. Learned quite a bit and had a good time. Our local club is at an all time low for members with about 4 active. One gent in particular is retired and has been a great source for teaching.
My son has healed up and is back to sports so our time at the field is dwindling. I am comfortable with the trainer and I am ready to move on with a new Sig 4 Star 40 I just completed today. Hope to fly in the am. The P51 has yet to see the sky. Not sure I am ready for that one just yet.
