west epoxy has a pretty good basic repair manual, its about 6 or 7 bucks at west marine.

I just fixed a spot 4 times that size on my buddys V on the bow. It took a little time but turned out great. Follow Skools advise, He wouldnt steer you wrong! I cut out and reglassed, sanded smooth and applied four layers of color matched gelcoat, sanded, buffed and polished. Turned out great!

After you remove the bad f-glass, make sure it is VEEEERYYY dry before you apply the new resin, or it won`t adhere well. Cracks soak water over time and it takes a while to dry internally.
