I love the liberal line that Bush has raised the price of gas then they turn around and call him dumb. You would have to be pretty smart to figure out how to raise the price of oil all over the world. If he did cause oil to go up like someone here knows he did then why isn't Obama or Hillary using that as a platform to get elected into office. Heck, if they promised me they could lower the price close to what it was before he took office (thats fair sense Bush increased the prices) and could tell me how I'd vote for them. Bush offered a plain to drill for oil which has been shot down everytime and by who? I'm not the biggest fan of Bush but I'm not going to blame him for somethng that he is not responsable for and that goes for every president we have. I think its time we as Americans start to look at things as a group and not one side against the other and we need to demand that from our goverment. I'm not saying lets all join hands and sing songs but we need to move foward and stop attacking each other on every issue. Sure we have different opinions but I'm sure we also have more common ground on which things should work.

Kumbayaaaaaaaaa.... oh wait I lost my head there for a minute.

You are correct and if you listen to teh speeches of the OPEC leaders,
some of which hate the U.S., then you will know who is driving the price up.

Could it be Chavez and Imanutajob, paying for their social revolutions along with
buying submarines, warships, jets and arms (from Russia)?

Stillrunning is exactly right.
All the democrats want is for the government to take over the price of fuel and regulate it.
Thats not how our government works. If you want to live in a socialist state there are plenty to move to.It would not be right for our government to cap oil prices because we feel they are unfair. The oil companies make a lot of profit and the only ones who can really do anything about the rising costs is us consumers ourselves. If we could all pull together for just a short period of time I think we could make some drastic difference. If we all didnt buy gasoline from a particular foreign oil company just for two or three days I think they would wake up a bit. It would send the message that we aren't vulnerable to whatever price they feel like charging.I think when we are ready to all have an inconvenience like that we can start making progress. And saying that a democrat in office is going to solve anything is ridiculous. I dont care what party they are from I personally believe Obama hasn't been around long enough to be president of anything and Clinton just cant get her story straight.
Just my $.02 =)

You can count on one thing from EITHER of the demoncrats, and that is HIGHER fuel prices. They BOTH have endorsed the $.75 per gallon fuel tax to help pay for these socialized programs, so hang on to your butts. And the other thing to keep in mind is that ANY presidents policies DON'T make immediate changes. Many times there lucky if by the end of there 2 terms in office to see what there policies have done. And to all of those who felt that things were better under CLINTON'S reign, I got a former boss you need to meet. He could take a company that is going bankrupt and juggle the books to make it look like MICROSOFT when they exploded onto the scene. And just wait for your tax's to go back to CLINTON'S era, most will go up from 45-85%!

Yep, as though 60+% isn't bad enough. It's really sickening when you sit down and think about how much you REALLY get taxed. You pay taxes when you make it, you pay for social security that gets used elsewhere, you pay for medicare, you pay tax when you buy something, and those goods have already been taxed before they make it to you who knows how many times, you pay taxes when you die, you pay taxes when you buy a home, you pay taxes on your utilities, you pay taxes when you die, you pay taxes on your property, and so on and son and so on. So let's add son some more!

I think BC hit on one of the major issues, there seems to be two different camps in our society, those who feel they deserve it, and those who just want the opertunity to earn it. There are crooks and saints on both sides. I'm just glad I've been given the opertunity and the skills to "earn it", there are a lot of people in this world that don't get either.

I ABSOLUTELY agree. But hey, why pay our mortgages, or any bills for that matter, when the government will bail you out if you can't (or just don't) pay them?

FAIRTAX.ORG Look it up guys. I'm telling you, this is probably the only feesable plan to bring REAL change to our country and get things back to a much simpler time. If you get a chance to, read the two books Neal Boortz and John Linder wrote about the plan. They will answer any and all questions and concerns people might have. It doesn't sound interesting I know, and I'm not a big reader, but I finished the book in a week. It is really pretty engaging. Once people really understand how much taxes they actually pay, and can see where that money is going, only then will there be any understanding of what the real problem is......our "leaders"
