That's not a Mako it's a Seabird. Two different animals . 24' deadrise and a cored hull. Can be lots of work if the core is soaked . Although this boat looks nice though.

Spare, yep way too much boat for this kid! I've done the twin motors before--gone through two sets and I wouldn't want to go through that ever again unless somebody gives me a rig with them and even then, they'd have to be proven trustworthy.

That said, thank you for bringing this boat to my attention. It does look like a sweet deal and I love the lines on that hull.

I need some advice...

There's a 91 Hydra Sport Vector that I'm going to look at tomorrow. I'm ready to buy it, if everything goes well. That said, one major thing has me a little concerned. The motor is a 91 Evinrude (original with the boat) and he said the seals are going bad on the tilt/trim pump. How serious of a job is that? Is that something I ought to pay to have done? I have to remove the motor anyway since I'd be swapping motors with the one on my V20.

Also, he replaced the jumper seat cushions with starboard and the combing pads don't have the upholstery on them, just wood... I realize that's just cosmetic stuff.

Is there anything else I should be looking for in a Hydra Vector?

Hi, Kamikaze, you're right, I mistakenly referred to it as a Mako cuz I had just left that site. I got it right the second time around though :-)

The guy took a deposit on it last Sunday...
