Skools,

Thinner hull than a V? How does it compare to the V in handling rough water?

Thanks for all the responses guys; very helpful and much appreciated.

I've been in a 250 SEARAY in a mild chop. It involved a trip to the chiropractor afterwards. The SEARAY I re-did last year was the same hull as SKOOLS's 250, not a soft riding boat IMHO. This one here is a little bit more money and a bit far away, but right up your alley. If he'd come down on his price to say $5K I'd be all over it.

Ferm, I saw that one and was attracted, but never heard of Oceanic. Do you know anything about it?

It looks like a solid built boat, but definately is not a copy of the famous BERTRAM 20 footer. Nowhere near enough deadrise on it to be a BERTRAM copy. It looks rather similiar to a HYDRA SPORT to me, which is a good hull.

Default looking for a center console

I owned a 24' Laguna (1997) with a 225 Merc and it was a well built boat. That boat made 6 trips to the Bahamas and was a work horse. No offense guys (and I've owned two V20's and tournament fished on a 250 Sportsman) they're a better built boat than any Wellcraft fishing boat both past and present. I've also owned a 270 Amberjack and a 34 Sundancer. I loved my V20's, but I'd take a 20'-21' Laguna anyday. My business took me to the Whaler, Sea Ray and Wellcraft plants in Florida and it's true, you do get what you pay for. Just my $.02.

Hey boys, I got home just a little after 9:00PM tonight after pulling my new to me Hydra 120 miles from Philly. She is sweet! I'm exhausted, so I'm heading for bed, but I'll try to snap a couple of pics in the morning before I fly out to Detroit... I'm preaching at one of our Churches out there is Southfield this weekend. Anyway, I think I got a REALLY good deal. I'll tell ya'll more in the morning...

Thanks to all who offered the good advice. I think I will be much happier with the Hydra over the Angler. Newness cannot replace quality...

Good Night.

Steve
