I mounted my ss holders in the gunnels, about a foot in front of the rear hatches. Probably like yours, 30*, flush mounts. Used a 2 1/8" doorknob hole saw on my 18v DeWalt, held it at 30* angle and in I went. A little scary drilling a big hole like that in your boat.....slow and steady, you'll be fine.
