You guys hold some pretty strong feeling on the VRO thing huh? I really did the research when I replaced my fuel pump. Everything I found out/read or heard was this...... call it B.S. if you want to. The earlier model VRO systems did have their share of issues. The latest VRO fuel pumps that you would buy today are very reliable. I was convinced enough to spend $300 on a new pump. Luckily when mine failed it was the fuel half of the pump. Just my 2 cents worth.
