Phester,

I'm with MJ. Iv'e never heard of an alarm for fuel pressure, but that doesn't mean there isn't. You should not have to prime the oil line. iboats. com has an excellent forrum for outboards, they have helped me out a ton in the past, check e'm out.

Good Luck,
Scott

thanks for all the input, I will check out iboats later today,I am certainly no outboard mechanic,I can do all [or most] of the basic maintainance or new parts swap, but i'm not one to dive into eletrical or fuel troubleshooting

Back the boat into the ramp (water) and test it. I've had overheat alarms go off on the muffs before. A garden hose can't supply enough water to keep the water pump happy. Good chance thats your problem, next guess is stuck thermostat.

Revel in the luxury of having two boats and go fishing for flounder in your little boat while the V-20 gets tuned up. Did you try a new primer bulb?

I am going to give myself a "'personal day",perhaps on friday,[3 day weekend]...and I will address the lower unit oil, plugs, and themostats, all very servicable and well within my capabilities,oh yes both fuel filters too.I think I may also run it down at the boat ramp, still on the trailer. I spoke to my mechanic today, briefly, and he was supposed to take my rig in the shop on wed or thurs....he's just completely jammed right now, everybody wants it yesterday, so I may have to wait for him early NEXT week...the horror...
