I recovered the top of the console when I replaced my fish finder. I used non-skid tape. Check the before and after pics below

why don't you remove it sand then roll on some top side paint with a little non-skid, then never fear it peeling again plus easy to touch up later.

That'd be a great way to go...another way would be 1/4" Starboard...remove all the existing paper and entire dash...you might wanna consider all new gauges, too...mine looked about like yours when I first drug her home back in 1999...the old sonar unit shown here has been replaced, but this approach has worked well for long time...

...just remove the existing dash and cut out the fiberglass behind it leaving a 3/4" lip around the outter edge to fasten new w/ #8 Stainless screws...routing the edges give it a nice finished look...a piece cut and routed to fit the top of the console would look great, too...use white up there as any other color will absorb too much heat...

Good luck w/whatever approach you take and keep us posted...

Lowe's has some countertop contact paper that might work.

I did what was to be a temporary color change on my old farmhouse kitchen counter,
4 years ago and that stuff is still holding up like new.

Dash looks GREAT!!...

The Starboard topper on the console would would avoid sanding and painting and give you a great surface up there...

Thanks for pointing this site out Stuart! I have been checking it out and it reminds me a lot of the mako site... a lot if really boaters who are not afraid to get their hands dirty!

Macojoe I sent you an email about sponsorship, I really am siked about becoming a part of this site even just to hang out and meet new boaters with real passion!

Stuart, when you get a chance, I would like to get some finished pics of the panel for my website
