Looks like a nice boat! And there is ways of getting titles!!

But before you go dishing out good cash, be sure they have the right to sell it! There are things they have to do to get rid of other peoples property by law!! And if not you could end up as a huge loser if the owner came out of the wood work at some point!!

Be a shame to piece that thing out and junk it!!

Go to the DMV with the FL number and have them trace it. Tell them the story about your considering buying it, but the seller has no title. They should be able to trace it. Also a local PD can normally trace FL numbers to see who they belong to. Titles on boats in the state of FLORIDA are HARD to come by if you don't already have one. Also get the hull ID number off of the starboard transom and have them see iof it match's up to the FL number. The FWC is starting to check FL numbers against hull ID numbers.

Default Offer

Please provide me the Hull ID, I have the FL Tag as show FL 8173 EB correct ? If you like I can track it down for you and give you names leins etc. Then you can decide ,As Ferm posted in Florida its very very hard to obtain a Title unless the Hull is clean from all leins etc, You can then move to the courts for a legal copy local DMV will let you know exactly what needs to be done. Let me know..

Although you can't beat nymack's offer, which I highly recommend you take before you buy, here’s what FL DMV has to say.

"What should the purchaser of a vessel do if he is unable to contact the titled owner to obtain the certificate of title or an executed bill of sale?

Notify the Bureau of Vessel Titles and Registrations in writing stating the existing problem and furnish the Florida registration number of the vessel. The Department will provide the name and address of the titled owner with the necessary instructions for transferring the ownership of the vessel. "

You can also place an offer contingent to a clear title with no liens.
