Default First outing 2008

My wife and I took the V out Saturday. We rode about 40 miles altogether. My boat ran great, no problems at all! I was a little concerned with the fuel consumption though. It used about 12 gallons of liquid gold! After talking with my buddy with the 86 V with the same motor ,he said his was much better than that. Ive got another carburator that ive already rebuilt that Ill try. Maybe it will get a little better mileage. Overall we had a great day out though!!

3.3 MPG aint too bad.

The 2 stroke outboard guys would kill for that.

Not this one. I'm doing much better than that.

3.3 is what I've averaged over the last 4 years or so that I've kept track with my 150 2 smoke.

3 letters for you, DFI. Them there direct injected motors can do pretty good now. I'd be happy to get 3.3 out of my flats boat, but that old 150 MERC likes to run.

Or in my case, HPDI. It's very efficient, and clean-running. Not as quiet as a 4-stroke, of course, but it's lighter than a 4, and if you're into the hole-shot it'll grab your attention.

Let me rephrase that......3.3 mpg, that is terrible. You might as well be running a 2 stroke outboard, getting that mpg.

3.3 is fine for a 2 stroke! I was running 86 Yamaha & 89 Evinrude both 175 hp average was the same for both 2.5

I will be happy to get the same with the Sea Ox??
