I am going to re-do my transom, raising it up 5". I'm not afraid of the work, but oes anyone know of a good resource book to guide me in my first major fiberglass project?

Overboard . . . Post a pic of your transom. If there is the regular dip in the transom that's on most 20" v20 transoms. You might consider having a special aluminum plate made that bolts to the inside face of the transom . . . sealing out the water and run a jack plate on the backside. That way you don't miss a whole season of fishing . . . and tear into a perfectly good transom. It wouldn't look bad either.
