Default reel repair

couple of good websites on drag washer installs. Its really not that hard especially for a bunch of savvy mechanics like you all!! Most all reels are similar when it comes to drags...Give it a try and get that old reel up to snuff again!

Mj just gives them all to me to clean, upgrade, and install new drags. I'm slow to get started on reels that aren't my own, but get the job done eventually. The latest batch he gave me is going to be a challenge though.

Theres a fellow down here in Jersey that my friend turned me onto. He retired from Penn where he ended up being their service manager. I brought seven of my old Penns, one squider one 114h and several others of diffrent sizes. He did a beautiful job on them, all serviced and some parts had to be replaced that were just worn down, he leaves the parts removed in a little bag attached to each reel and a note on what each one needed. I told him make them as new. He installed the new drag material in each and it came out sweet. 146.00 with tax. Would have taken me hours to do it and Lord knows I would have had to go thru the loops to get the parts.
Some of those reels are as old as me, one was the first fishing rods reel my Dad bought me when I was about 7 or 8.
They work like new.
How do you beat that, unless you got a bud in the next town Like CB.

I was going to say give them top a friend to do! LOL

I use to do all my reels change parts and all, but in the last few years my hands have been messed up with finger tips from Diabetes, and I could still do but would take days as my hands would cramp up.

So CB said he would do a few I had last year for me, one I had was left apart the year before as I got frustrated with my hands and left it.
CB did a top notch job!! Just as good if not better then i would have done!

This year my hands are worse do to Carpel Tunnel from the diabetics and I need a operation.

CB once again said he would do a few reels, so I loaded him up!! What are friends for Thanks CB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So are they done yet??
