About 20 foot from the boat a 15' mako bit it in half. We would've definately won 25,000 plus optional cash awards. In addition we might've won another 500,000 for beating the current world record of 50 pounds 4 ounces. the guys at outcast bait and tackle said the head is 1/3 of the fishes entire body weight. The head weighed 18 pounds. Thats a 16x24 framing square.

Yeah that mako played well with it. Once we got the head in the boat and my dad saw how big it really was he started crying.
