b12 take your time your boat is going to look good! My 1990 has the same lay out. How was it to take up the gas tank cover? Keep up the good work and keep posting them pics! Bill Mc ;D

Bill, Gas tank cover is no problem at all. Removed the retaining screws, ran a razor blade knife around all edges to break the caulking bond - gave a good tug - and the cover came loose. Getting the tank out was a little more difficult - it was "chock full" of gas. Had to drain 60 gallons so it was light enough to lift out of cavity.

Hope I have no problems with my tank but I need to take up the cover to repace all of the gas lines. Bill Mc ;D

I just got done looking at your pictures again and I now have another question. *how is the fish well between the seats plumbed? *How is the drain run and what does the white hose do? *Mine does not have the white hose. *thanks Bill Mc ;D MJ and Rap made floor covers out of starboard.

Mac...keep in mind what MJ and I did was make HATCH covers of Starboard...haven't considered making fuel-tank cover, although as long as 3/4" is used shouldn't be a problem...whatever "caulk" won't adhere to Starboard so keep that in mind... ;)...Also leave expansion room as Starboard DOES expand in the heat of summer... 8)...

Brian...just looked thru your Gallery...GREAT OPPORTUNITY...you got a clean slate there...can go ANY direction you choose... ;D...

Starboard doesn't solve ALL problems, but I see two possibilities...love that big fish-box...Starboard would make a great cover for that (3/4")....filling the transom and adding a bracket would be great way to go, but you also could make Starboard wall (also 3/4") forward of the motor-well... it COULD be removeable...looks like there was something there originally...don't wanna change your mind cause full transoms are great!!!....

Rap, I think the cover he is missing is the one for the fish box. What do you think of a starboard application here? Bill Mc ;D

Starboard is the perfect thing for the fish box!!

But as for the gas tank cover NO! You won't be able to seal the hole good and you will end up with soaked wet foam around the gas tank and this will start it corroding!!
