OK, I have put together a game plan for repairing the hull on the CC i/o. I need to replace the floor, deck, and a portion of the stringers. I will know the full story about the stringers once I completely remove the floor. I have a question about cutting out the floor. I am concerned where to cut. basically the whole floor is rotted or soft. Where do I make my cut so when I replace the the floor I can assure I will have no unsupported areas. And when I reinstall the floor how do I finish the edges so they are not soft if there is no support under the edge???

Thanks I chk'd out the link and it seeems like they end their cut over a stringer when possible but what do you do when you need to cut the whole floor out? Obviously you cut it all out, but how do you support the floor on the outside edges?

Regidog, I had to replace my deck from the middle fish box to the cabin door. I cut out the old with a skill saw about 3 inches from the edge. Then I epoxied a "lip" to the bottomside of the opening. Then you cut the new decking to fit your opening. seal it, epoxy it in place. After the deck is back on, you glass the seams and the fair it and finally paint it.

Thats what Ineeded to know. So you simply epoxied a piece of plywood to lay the new floor on. Makes sense.

Reg, that's why I mentioned click on next....on that page, they took entire width of floor out all the way to gunwales...then your new edges are supported as from factory...I like phat's way, too, so either oughta work...

Hey Reel, your saying you simply cut the entire floor out, than lay the new floor on top of the factory connections to the sides?

I had to replace from gunnell to gunnell under both seats and half way to to the splash well on the port side. The lip i installed in the opening was about 3 " deep, this gave enough support so that the new deck would not fall through or sag where the two pieces of deck met. I ran a string from side to side an had to build up my stringers a little to get a good fit.
