| Trailer suspention inspection

Some of you know that I just got this trailer, so I decided to make my own safety inspection on the suspension. When I removed my trailer tires for winter, I started removing one bolt at the time and got to the point where there’s no return! ??? The trailer it’s only a few years old so obviously the lack of lubrication is a major factor here . Do yourself a favor and inspect your trailer before it breaks down on the road, causing an accident and ruining your fishing day. Take a look, the equalizers are shot... Here the shackles and bushings show how little they're worth For about fifty bucks I'll have the trailer in top shape and feel confident trailering... just thinking that I trailered this F%$#@ think from NC doing up to 80 mph ,my frigging curlies get straight up :o

How old is that trailer?? It also looks like a painted trailer not Galv. I check mine all the time!! Its only 3 years old and has one year of use because of motor problems. also it is a Loadrite and does not have the springs and stuff like yours. It has independent suspension on each wheel via Torsion Axles Every winter I pull the hubs and bearings, clean in cleaner, repack for the next season, My last trailer was a 1980 and I had the same bearings in there from when I bought the thing, and I had it for 4 years before buying the new one. With out trailer or motor all you have is a big planter!!

MJ My trailer is 6 yo galvanized, not painted, the rust visible on the parts are from the grade 5 lplated leaf spring bolts. Other than these parts it's in very good shape. If I had to buy a new trailer I would go with torsion bars instead of springs, better ride and less maintenance do do. For now, I'm gonna hang on to this trailer until I get tired of maintaining it ;D
