Default Fuel Sending Unit Length?

My sending unit is bad and I am going to replace with a vertical float type and was wondering if anyone knew off hand the length needed for the 60 gallon tanks? It's a 1994 V21 if that matters and the tank appears to be glass or poly, def not metal.

Boater's World has a 10" and 12" in stock and I was hoping that if I knew now that it is different than that, I could pre-order prior to removing the old.

thanks for any insight...otherwise I'll just pull it and stick a tape down in the tank
;D

There are adjustable ones available, usually at the same places with the fixed ones.

Thats what I was thinking.

Hey, you said that you may have a fiberglass gas tank you may want to check on this. There is issues with fiberglass tanks and ethanol which make the fiberglass soft and eventually start to leak. I'm not sure if it is all fiberglass tanks that have issues but just thought I'd give you a heads up. I know the tanks in older Bertrams are having trouble and I had seen a test which showed the issues but thats about all I know.

GB I see you live in Norfolk where do you normally boat as thats my stomping grounds? I live in Suffolk and fish the MMBT and the HRBT very often. I have a 1983 V20 cc with a 2" bold red stripe and a 1" blue stripe around the water line. Its powered with a 150 Johnson and I have a blue bimini top which is stored in a boot over the driver seat. There's a good chance I've seen you out on the water if you fish or boat in those areas.

Thanks for the replies!
SR: I do live in Norfolk and keep her at Taylor's Landing at Little Creek. Fish mostly CBBT so far and looking forward to targeting some cobia and maybe Kings and Spanish soon too. Hope to see you out on the water I'll keep an eye out for that bold red stripe! ;D

GB I normally put out at the Cove Marina. I'm pretty easy to spot, a V-20 with a 115 Johnson on a bracket. Are ther any distinguishing features on your so I can keep an eye out for ya?

Hey there 2nd Chance,

There aren't really any distinguishing things yet. The name on the side is very small up on the Gunwale and says "Nauti Girl", still from the previous owner. Like SR I have a blue bimini which if it is not up is in a blue boot above the driver area sort of. Hope to see you out there! Last night we were out and saw like 3 v's in 2 hours, and neither were you guys ;D Man there are a lot of V's up here on the bay!
