Default question before I commit

ok, I should be putting stringers in tomorrow or the next day depending on work and weather( keeping up with not for the week of heart). I've been shopping resin and this is what I've come up with. Evercoat has a product called boatyard and it's $32 a gl compared to the MAS $75 a gl. Is it ok to go with the boatyard or should I look for something else? I'll be buying a few gallons in the am I think it should be just fine for reglassing the stringers but wanted some expert opinion. Any help? Also found the plywood skools been talking about $35 a sheet. I'll have pics of the progress as usual.

The cheaper is a polyester resin that uses MEK as an catalyst to harden. The MAS,WEST, Etc is a 2 part epoxy that need to be mixed in a ratio to harden. most production boats are built of polyester. if you use epoxy , gel coat will not stick to it and you must paint when done. epoxy is a little easier to work with because of the more predictible pot life. A lot of people use epoxy on components that will be hidden and poly on the exposed surfaces. epoxy will adhere to poly, but poly to epoxy is not a good bond. all of this is just my experience and subject to review.

thanks phat. if all goes well in the am, I'll remove the last bit of old glass and wood scuff everything up good and cutting wood by dinner 1700 or supper for the southerners. Also, I was thinking rather then justa 3/4 sheet with a 3/4 nailing kleet on top, I'd just do a double 3/4 don't know if it would be stronger but I have plenty of room to do it this way.

supper for the southerners
Up until I entered the work force at age 23 I was raised to call lunch dinner and dinner supper. * I know its crazy, but that's how I was raised. * I no longer call lunch dinner cause its just too darn confusing for other people to understand (unless they are from this area). * ;D

P.S. Breakfast has always been breakfast *;D

LOL I was confused for a long time after moving here from Maryland. I don't know why lunch is dinner and dinner is supper it just is. I still confuse people by saying the wrong thing. Guess I don't blend so well.
